On a bright crisp autumn Sunday morning a group of Friends met at The Chapel armed with litter pickers and bin liners ready for action!
At first sight the Cemetery looked quite well kept, but we were the litter detectives – scouring the hedgerows and river banks we came across beer cans, bottles, plastic bags, takeaway boxes, flower wrappings and much more. We also found council signs floating in the Moselle River and one Friend cleared up 4 bags of rubbish from the Lake area.
It only took an hour and we were joined by local Councillors Gideon Bull and Anne Stennett and a couple of new members joined too, so all in all it was a really worthwhile event.
THE NEXT ONE IS ON SUNDAY 9th JANUARY at 11.30am.
So wrap up warm, wear your wellies and meet at The Chapel + Hot toddies at the Antwerp afterwards
